Texas House Commitee approves bill for Open Carry of guns
The members of the House Committee on Homeland Security and Public Safety passed an open-carry bill 5 to 3. Now the bill will sit while it waits for a calendar date to be discussed by the entire House. So there are still a lot of work to do before this becomes official law. I am happy to see this coming to the light of day. As a Texan it can be very difficult to stay cool and concealed so even if you never intend to Open-Carry at least this would give you some protection should a light shirt ride up over the gun.
On the down side I am concerned that some businesses might be turned off by the idea and throw up even more 30.06 signs. But in reality I don't believe this became a huge issue in other states that allow open carry.
