While people have known for years that a placebo effect does exist, researchers now know that the effect works even if the patient knows they are taking a placebo.
While 35 per cent of the patients who had not received any treatment reported an improvement, 59 per cent of the placebo group felt better. "The placebo was almost twice as effective as the control," says Kaptchuk. "That would be a great result if it was seen in a normal clinical trial of a drug.......
A 50 year old pilot had his licensed handgun taken away pending a review. His crime? He exposed on YouTube that while flight crews and passengers get screened, ground crews only get their ID cards scanned. Just more security theater from the TSA.

Wow Kel-Tec has become the Hyundai of the gun world. I just love this new bullpup pump action shotgun the KSG. It looks very similar to their RFB rifle. I love how compact this gun is for its 18.5" barrel but what really has me impressed is that it uses TWO internal magazine tubes to load a total of 14 rounds. But it gets even better, the shooter can SWITCH tubes on the fly using a manual level just behind the trigger guard.
In an attempt to stop all violence, the UK has very strong "Knife-Control" laws. Just how strict are they? Think of Chicago gun control. In the UK you can only carry a folding knife with a blade less then 3 inches and even then its too dangerous to be carried into a bar, pub or a school.
Injustice Everywhere has their Top Ten worst police misconduct videos from 2010. They include everything from beatings to unjustified fatal shootings. I have seen some of these before but I also enjoyed their brief summary and updates on the cases involved.
