The following story was just posted by the AP and doesn't seem to show any strong anti gun bias on the part of the news group; unlike that of the Yolo County Sheriff.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The nationwide debate over liberalizing gun laws spilled into a federal courtroom in Sacramento on Thursday as gun-rights groups challenged how much discretion California's law enforcement officials have in issuing concealed weapons permits...
Mayor Daley is on his way out of office now and he wants to make one final stand on his no gun policy. But these new policies aren't "anti gun". In fact its the very type of policy that gun rights supporters have been asking for... don't regulate the GUN, target the violent ACTIONS that make people criminals......
Alan Gura who won the Heller gun rights case in D.C. is fighting a little different type of case today. He is showing if "a group of dancers at the Jefferson Memorial in 2008 violated the government's prohibition on demonstrations at the monument". So are 17 people dancing a demonstration and does the Park Service have guidelines that restrict this specific behavior?.......
Any round has pros and cons. High points and trade offs. While everyone can argue the 5.56mm effectiveness as a defensive weapon, the facts are pretty clear that it doesn't penetrate barriers very well. Its too light and too fast, making it very prone to tumble and break up, which is good if the first thing it hits is a bad guy. Well just in case you don't believe me check out how this sheetrock testing.
I know its a 90 min video. Initially I thought I would just watch a few minutes. My wife and baby had gone to bed and I wanted to watch HBO's Pacific mini series. I cracked open a micro beer from Colorado and pressed play on my web browser. And I really enjoyed the entire CATO video. Sure its a little dry and slow but I greatly enjoyed watching the arguments of intelligent speakers. Yes I even enjoyed watching the anti-gun arguments.
Here is a rough estimate of the different speakers...
The four year bipartisan report of the Fort Hood shooting is finally available to read here.
All quotes from the report are in italics and indented. Note that I have marked some key points in Bold.
Here is the overall basic hightlight:
There are two bills in the Texas House of Representitives seeking to expand the rights of gun owners. "HB 681 would prohibit employers from enforcing policies against the storage of lawfully-owned firearms in employees' private motor vehicles parked at work and HB 750 would allow Concealed Handgun Licenses to protect themselves on public college and university campuses" (source: NRA Blog). Sometimes it can be difficult to craft a letter explaining the feeling and personal experiences you wish to share. I decided to post this article in the hope that it might help to inspire your own letters. To find out who your Texas Representive is go to this website. Here is a copy of the letter I sent to my Representative to show my support of HB 681 & 750:
The Office of Naval Research is deploying some very high tech sunglasses. They use LCDs to dynamically adjust to light levels around the user. Called Fast-Tint Protective Eyewear (FTPE) it changes color in less then 0.5 seconds. Its like your fancy eyeglasses on steroids. So rather then have to stop and swap lenses or remove their eye protection, they can just keep these bad boys on the whole time.
As Rep John Mica reminded everyone, airports are not required by law to use the TSA for screening. They can actually run the process themselves. While the TSA might have the right to choose which airports can 'opt-in' to the TSA Screening Partnership Program (SPP), the problem is the TSA has now decided that airports can not 'opt-out'. Its Hotel California; TSA style.
New York mayor Michael Bloomberg sent investigators to a gun show in Phoenix to conduct an undercover 'sting' or as some in Arizona call entrapment.
But what really floors me is this statement by Bloomberg:
